Louis Vuitton Special for metal magazine

To get the editorial look for Louis Vuitton’s Metal magazine special, hairstylist Johanna Cree Brown used Oribe products. We caught up with Johanna to talk through each look and she gave us an insight into her inspiration and vision behind the looks. Two beautiful models with very different hair aesthetics showed off the stunning creations in these behind the scene films..

Model: Ajok
Inspiration behind the look -

Much like a sculpture, models are often viewed as art installations. Following the brief set I created an oversized look for Ajok by using sculptural elements and irregularly shaped volumes. The hair volume was designed with pin setting / rickrack techniques and sculpted by working with a soft brush and my hands to get the final shape that worked with the models face shape.

Overall, my goal was to create an airiness to the outline of thehair while maintaining a luxurious feel.

Model: Zena
Inspiration behind the look -

Zena had fairly short layered hair on set, I was looking to style something sculptural, still with a softness of form.

I referenced Elvis’ hair from Baz lurhmann epic film ELVIS, which I absolutely adored! I’ve always had a love of manga graphic art too, so I kind of created a smash up of both on the day!

We love both looks, what’s your favourite? Leave a comment below… team work!! Bravo, bravo.
