Altuzarra SPRING 2023
In 1968, two novels were published that would go on to be regarded as modern classics: Carlos Castaneda's The Teachings of Don Juan and Edward Abbey's Desert Solitaire.
These works of literature have been credited as the inspiration for Altuzarra's spring/summer 2023 collection, which was inspired by themes of loneliness, enlightenment and natural beauty. The show itself was characterized by contrasts: tailoring with flou, matte with metallics and ultimately, the physical with the spiritual as shown in the Shibori tie-dye and hypnotic prints.
The cocoon parkas designed for the fashionable explorer, offered in monochromatic hues as well as heavily embroidered with metallic discs; handsome blazers cut with broad shoulders and nipped at the waist with adjustable drawstrings, worn ever so nonchalantly with asymmetric striped shirting; and those tasselled scarves that doubled as artful neckwear.
These were some of the looks on display at this season's Altuzarra runway show.
