At the end of the day, she’s a bad girl.

The Cavalli woman is a specific type of woman. She is strong, but not aggressive; she is feminine, but not passive; she is elegant but not aloof. She exudes a natural sexiness that exudes self-confidence and comfort with herself. She exudes a grandeur that is imitable but not intimidating—a grandeur that makes you want to be her best friend!

When Italian designer Roberto Puglisi was thinking about his Spring/Summer 2023 collection, he turned to Hollywood in the 30s and 40s and tried translating it into the Italian way. He looked at Marnie from Hitchcock, then at the beautiful jewellery from Toni Duquette.

Duquette was an American artist and renowned jewellery designer from the early 30s. His jewellery was extravagant, visually striking, dramatic, and over the top—fitting enough for Puglisi’s collection. Such as the pineapple, which came as extravagant clasps worn..or even as a dress, provocatively short, but it did the trick of exuding over-the-top glamour.

The collection is the perfect fusion of the Cavalli DNA and Puglisi's passion for colour, creating a unique ode to femininity. The collection features all-over prints, classic silhouettes, and luxurious fabrics that are sure to inspire women everywhere.

Puglisi played with colour in his designs, infusing delicious hues into classic fabrics like Moire from Como, which exuded a kind of freshness. He also used a variety of different fabrics including silk, cotton and organza. The Puglisi S/S 23 collection aims to empower women by allowing them to find their own identity with silhouettes ranging from impeccable lady-like proportions to absolute body-conscious forms—all without sacrificing the powerful extravagance of the Cavalli DNA that women find irresistible.

In the hands of Puglisi, sex becomes an image of beauty and pure Italian seduction.

It is a language that evokes emotions and provokes thoughts. It is an expression of artistry that speaks volumes without saying a word. With every piece that Puglisi created, there was an underlying message that spoke volumes about his own perspective on life—one that we all aspire to live by: To love fully; to enjoy life; and most importantly, to never take anything for granted.
