RUE AGTHONIS showcased their SS23 collection at the palatial Corinthia Ballroom, the opulent architecture perfectly combines with their SS23 collection and reflects the connection between strength and elegance. The soft colours and tones of the Ballroom emphasise the feminine radiance of the SS23 Collection.
The collection celebrates femininity, strength and innocence. Emphasising the harmony between all three qualities should not be viewed as mutually exclusive from one another, but instead, allow women to embrace themselves. The collection radiates youthful excitement in a vibrant appreciation for women.
In a similar way to Gustav Klimt, the designer Syl celebrates the female figure, recognising its strength and beauty. She pays homage to the playful innocence that was glorified by Klimt through color blocking and mosaicing, while advocating for the legacy left by his work.
The SS23 collection continues to master the comprehension of the female figure, in a bid to make women feel confident and inspired when wearing the pieces as well as cultivating a sense of nostalgia and innocent wonder that has potentially been forgotten as we get caught up in our daily errands.
For hair and makeup, it was all about enhancing the natural skintone. The models' skin looked fresh and dewy with a little crystalized eye makeup. Natural textures were everywhere—waves, curls, braids, and knotted top knots were on point. Baby hairs were softy enhanced with face frames. Divine!!
The SS23 Collection has inspired new and original pairings of fabrics to unique and individual designs that embody the notion of both sophistication and youth. Matchmaking various fabric combinations such as sequins and tweed has allowed the collection to elevate itself as well as pioneer a new path for creativity and confidence when it comes to coordinating fabrics within the design. The designer plays with classical silhouettes and fabrics such as gingham or tweed but then contrasts them with metallic veils or sequin details, all working together to create a contemporary and captivating collection that is unlike any other.
The designer also features several playful capes with detailed embroidery and memorable colours. The SS23 Collection embodies craftsmanship and encourages the viewer to focus on the subtle details that tie together the looks such as defined sleeves, soft feathers and Elastic spandex accents.
The RUE AGTHONIS SS23 collection continues to represent the brand’s sentiment of: ‘Love, Quality and Positive Beauty’ throughout its design. They continue to represent an appreciation for oneself, through bravery and beauty, reminding us to be our most optimistic selves, making sure we always search for the sparkles that life has to offer and keeping hold of our youthful wonder and creativity even as we grow up.
